Today I'm writing you to tell you a little about my job and some of the things we do, have done, challenges, goals and to also introduce myself because I'm the newest member of the team. My name is Cathryn I work for Arise Apparel clothing company.
Working for Arise Apparel for the past month has been in fact interesting. As I said before I'm quite new and I'm finally getting the hang of everything such as talking comfortably with professionals or writing emails after emails to companies regarding our clothing line, I keep things organized such as clothing, orders, phone calls etc. I've been doing a little bit of traveling across the Okanagan to retail stores and I enjoy it very much because not only do I love traveling I enjoy meeting new people who I'll be doing business with. I've also had the chance to talk to a few people who are entertainers such as actresses and artists. I was much honored to have that chance to get to know them on a more personal level as well as doing business with them.
There are challenges working for a clothing company and so far I've been lucky because I’ve only really been challenged with a couple minor things. My first challenge was to find companies around British Columbia and also Alberta to introduce our line to but it's not easy searching for potential clients on the internet do to the fact that I strongly believe meeting people in person can be more beneficial and only because a lot of people don't read new emails as often as they used to. As I spent a few days doing research, figuring out my pitch, and being totally happy with what I was sending out I finally got the hang of it and connected with some people who have now become not only fans of Arise Apparel but became great clients. I also find it challenging when you’re trying to sell a product that so many thousands of others are selling as well. The great thing about selling the same product like others are that our designs are totally different and our material is also a lot different from most sellers but the competition is still huge and you really have to keep focused and make your own designs unique to catch the peoples eye.
My goal this year is to update our sites weekly for you to have something fresh and interesting to check out, get people familiar with our clothing line, build a new catalog that I know you'll love because the new designs are absolutely epic and totally different from our previous designs and it's a surprise so I can't give you hints.
At Arise I've not only been introduced to many amazing clothing companies I’ve been introduced to an actress named Britney Salsberry who has just started a new TV show in LA. Britney and I have been talking back and forth now for a few weeks about the show and about our clothing line. She fell in love with a few designs and requested she would wear it on her show but not only did she just want to enjoy wearing the shirts she thought it would be a great way to help us get our clothing line out to the public. I've also had the chance to connect with Darrel Manfields manager Tina Paulson and again for some of you may already know who Darrel is but if not he's a Blue's Hall of Famer with a very interesting story about his life experiences. Tina is organizing a show where Darrel will also be sporting our clothing line. Darrel was on tour when he noticed our clothing in a booth and immediately started taking shirt after shirt off our racks because he was so fund of the designs. He sparked up a conversation with my boss and the next thing he knows Darrel wants to connect with us and get started on organizing a few designs he could wear while performing in the near future.
